Co vás trápí, jak dlouho problém trvá, berete nějaké léky, proběhlo již nějaké vyšetření, ...
Hope you might be able to help. I have a sore throat since wednesday, I have not seen a doctor and I am not taking any medication.
I would like to discuss whether it makes sense for me to have a covid test or if it could be strep.
I also dont have a GP as of yet. I am part of VZP. would be great to get a doctor assigned.
Good afternoon, we will be glad to assist you in this. I will ask our nurses to get in touch with you and find an English speaking GP for you. With your new doctor you might be able to discuss whether to have a covid test and what day. To decide what exactly is causing your condition I would need to know more details, eg. picture of your throat, to know whether you have higher temperature, whether you have been in contact with a covid-positive person etc. Sore throat is a symptom common in both viral and bacterial infection and to distinguish between those is not possible based on a short description. I suggest youo quarantine yourself, wear a face mask even at home if you share a household with someone. Should you have a fever, take Ibuprofen (Ibalgin) 400 mg three times a day 6 hours apart or Paracetamol (Paralen) 500-1000 mg 6 hours apart not exceeding 4 grams of the drug in any 24 hour period. You can gargle luke-warm salty water three times a day, suck on the oral disinfectant such as Strepsils, Orofar, Hexoral. Drink warm fluids, take your vitamins and have a plenty of rest. If you want to get tested for covid as soon as possible, we can help you to arrange the appointment, but it will need to be paid if you won´t have a referral form a doctor. I wish you get better soon. Best regards.
